Check Out These Important Updates on CodeRED Emergency Alerts

Last year, the CodeRED emergency notification system experienced a significant cybersecurity incident that impacted jurisdictions across the country. As a result of this breach, the legacy CodeRED platform was taken offline and permanently retired to protect user data and allow for a more secure system moving forward.

Since that time, emergency alert services have been rebuilt and transitioned to a new, more secure notification platform designed with updated cybersecurity protections and improved reliability. Because the previous CodeRED system is no longer active, residents will no longer receive alerts through the old system.

At this time, the Borough does not yet have a new emergency alert system in place. However, residents who previously relied on CodeRED are encouraged to download the official CodeRED app, available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, to stay informed of emergency alerts and notifications as new options become available.
